Synergies between organizational resilience and knowledge absorption capacity: An empirical study of aquaculture PYMES in Northeastern Mexico

Abstract

Business resilience and knowledge absorption capacity are decisive for the long-term success of small and medium-sized enterprises, enabling them to adapt and remain competitive and operational in times of uncertainty. Objective. To identify key factors that affect resilience and knowledge absorption capacity in aquaculture organizations in the municipality of Ahome, Sinaloa. Methodological design. Using a quantitative approach, an analysis was conducted using a Likert scale to assess the dimensions of resilience and knowledge absorption. The results show that organizations have a strong capacity for foresight and knowledge acquisition, although they face challenges in adaptation, transformation, and exploitation. The main limitation of the study is that the sample is concentrated in a single region or sector, which restricts the generalization of the results. The main finding indicates that organizations are strong in foresight and knowledge acquisition, but have significant weaknesses in adaptation, transformation, and exploitation of knowledge, which limits their ability to generate innovation and competitive advantage.
