Abstract

Hyaluronic acid is a polymer with viscoelastic and hydrophilic properties of which makes it of great importance mainly in the pharmaceutical industry. In this project were evaluated two different methods of extractions, chemical and enzymatic using vitreous humor of Oreochromis niloticus as a biological material waste. Based on the analysis of simple variance ANOVA confirms that there is statistically significant difference between extraction methods, being the enzymatic method of higher performance (8x10-3±4.62x10-4 %), while with chemical method the concentration was 2.2x10-3±5.77x10-5%.
