Abstract

The current economic situation has promoted for handcrafts to find their market reduced due to the low utilitarian value they represent. Carmín Artesanos tend to this market, through the sale of various articles of Olinalá wood (Bursera linaloe (La Llave) Rzed), in Guerrero, México. In México people are opting for cremating their deceased family members, so funerary homes, crematoriums and cemeteries have the need to provide more and better pieces destined to cinerary urns. Carmín Artesanos has the opportunity of entering this growing market, with a novel and quality product. Therefore, the convenience of entering this new market niche is evaluated. The results obtained show the economic and financial feasibility of the project, since the demand for crematory services is increasing in the country and, therefore, the use of cinerary urns
