Abstract

Appropriate technology is completely in agreement with new extension work, mandatory concept in the work with strata one and two of producers, the poorest and most numerous in Mexico. Increasing their production and also contributing to reach the goals of food security is possible, but it is a challenge that implies an interinstitutional and interdisciplinary effort of high complexity, since it is necessary to understand it from the causes that explain poverty in order to later suggest better strategies for their approach. In this study, some criteria are defined for the identification and selection of appropriate technologies and study cases are reported as well as their follow-up for those strata, in the state of Querétaro,
Mexico.
